News members can comment on posts and subscribe to News and Information Updates via email. Membership is free, your information remains private and you won't receive any emails except those to which you subscribe. (Select Register from the Members pulldown to join.)

Once you've registered and logged in, you can subscribe to any post, in order to receive email updates when comments are added, and/or to any journal to receive updates when new posts and comments are added.

There are two journals available, News and Information. To make sure you're subscribed to everything, click News in the header bar at the top of the page, then click your name at the very top of the page (when you're logged in) and choose Subscribe to Page Updates. Then click Information in the column to the right of the main text and, again, click your name and choose Subscribe to Page Updates.

Please note that when you're subscribed to a journal, you'll get an email every time a comment is added. When a topic is active, that can add up to quite a few in one day. Should you change your mind at any time about being subscribed to a given journal, follow the same steps listed above to subscribe and simply choose Remove Update Subscription instead.

If you aren't sure what you're subscribed to, click your name at the top of the page (when you're logged in) and click Edit Profile. There you can see your subscriptions and change them if needed, as well as change your password and other information.

Please Note: Your News Membership login and password are completely separate from your Store Account, which is accessed by clicking Manage Account in the upper right of this and every page on the site. (But you can choose to use the same password for both, if you like.) Your News Membership is also separate from the occasional Newsletter we send out. In case you aren't sure whether the emails you're receiving are Newsletters sent by us or News Updates from a journal subscription, click to see what our Newsletter looks like. If that's the subscription you want to change, click Manage Account at the top right of any page on the site and choose Set My Email Preferences. Anything else you're getting from us is due to a News or Information Update to which you've subscribed. Change those by clicking your name at the top of the page (when you're logged in) and choosing Edit Profile.
