Our Return Policy
What It Is
We stand behind our products and will cheerfully replace anything unopened or defective within 30 days. (Our commitment to excellent customer service has no time limit, but there is a need to impose a time limit on our legal liability.) Within 30 days, we will refund 100% of the purchase price of rings or kitpacks that haven't been opened. We will refund the purchase price of returned kits and ringsets, in whole or in part, at our discretion, following an inspection of the returned materials.
Beyond 30 days, the shine can begin to dull and then the rings cannot be resold. Once ring containers have been opened, we can't guarantee their pristine condition to another customer (without a ring by ring inspection that there simply isn't time to do), therefore we have to scrap the rings and can only offer the scrap price in return. (Scrap price is 75% of the spot price of sterling on the day the return is received.) Our ring containers all have glass tops so the rings can be viewed before the seal is broken. If you've ordered the wrong size rings and only realized that after they were opened, we're happy to suggest other uses for them (contact us for help with that) or you might look up the size on our Sterling Rings page for recommendations.
Please contact us before returning an item so that we can determine the item's condition, issue the appropriate return authorization and provide our return address and your return authorization number for marking the package.

Why It Is What It Is
99.99% of our customers are good and honest people. We are grateful for and appreciate you more than you will ever know and we will always go above and beyond what you might expect in order to provide you the best possible customer service. Unfortunately, there is that other .01%; the unscrupulous few who try to return a pair of $8 pliers after two years of use or who conceive the bright idea to order a kit, open it, read and perhaps photocopy the instruction book, then return the kit, with the expectation of a full refund.
It's a sad fact of life that a company's official legal policies are dictated by the unscrupulous few. Many companies choose to accept all returns in an effort to avoid the hassle and the possibility of negative word of mouth, no matter how outrageous the claim. That type of policy fosters unethical practices and creates the expectation of indulgence by all companies but even worse, the costs of doing business that way are passed on to the honest people in the form of higher prices overall. Granted, it would be easier to do business that way... but it isn't right and it isn't fair, so we don't do it.
