Shipping Outside the USA

Your choice of shipping option entails agreement to the associated terms below so please read and choose carefully according to your own needs and priorities.

United States Postal Service (USPS) rates were changed in May '07 and there have been several alterations with regard to international shipping. Global Priority no longer exists and has become Priority Mail International. International postage rates have increase substantially, almost doubling in some cases.

There are now two options for international delivery:

1) Priority Mail International - 6 to 10 days
2) Express Mail International - 3 to 5 days

A third option is available for Canadian customers:

3) First Class Mail International (Uninsured) - delivery time varies

First Class Mail International is uninsured and available for packages under $200US. This is the least expensive option for delivery to Canada, but there is no estimated delivery time, no tracking and, obviously, no insurance. We'll send it this way if you select the option... but if it goes missing, you have no recourse beyond haranguing your local post office. We will not be able to locate or replace a missing package shipped this way.

For all other international destinations, Priority Mail International is the lowest rate for packages valued up to $400US. Although more expensive than the previous Global Priority Mail option, Priority Mail International includes insurance and tracking.

For packages over $400US, Global Express Mail is the only shipping option. Global Express Mail may be selected for packages of any value and provides the fastest possible delivery.

Duty Happens

We charge actual postage, the exact amount we pay the carrier to deliver your package. Depending on the customs regulations in your country, you might be charged duty, taxes or other fees. We have no control over fees dictated by your government and no way of knowing whether they'll be assessed on any given package. Sometimes fees are assessed and sometimes they aren't and that decision is made by the customs agents at the point of entry to your country.

We adhere to all United States laws regarding international shipments. We attach and properly fill out all customs forms as required by law. Packages under $400US are marked 'Craft Supplies'; packages over $400US require a full commercial invoice which must be accessible to the customs agents. All international packages are subject to inspection by customs agents in either the US or in your own country. We cannot inaccurately value packages or mark them as gifts; that's customs fraud and the penalties are substantial.
